A New Camera, A New Beginning

Sometimes a camera is much more than a piece of equipment.

Sometimes it represents a decision.

After my diagnosis, I knew I wanted to spend more time doing what truly made me happy. Instead of waiting for the "perfect time," I invested in a new camera—a Fujifilm X-T20.

That camera changed everything.

It wasn't the most expensive camera on the market, nor the newest. But it encouraged me to go outside more often, to slow down, and to notice the beauty that surrounded me every day.

I photographed city streets, architecture, wildlife, landscapes, and people. I experimented with light, reflections, black-and-white photography, and long exposures. Every outing became a small adventure.

Photography became more than creating beautiful images.

It became therapy.

Whenever I looked through the viewfinder, my attention shifted away from worries and toward the present moment. I searched for interesting light instead of problems. I chased emotions instead of fears.

Over time, I realized something wonderful.

The camera wasn't helping me escape reality.

It was teaching me to appreciate it.

That simple decision to buy a new camera marked the true beginning of the photographic journey I'm still on today.
